Alberta's boreal desert
I'd heard about the 500 dead ducks in the toxic sludge of one of the containment lakes. I'd heard about the 'black gold rush' and the bile duct cancers in Fort Chipewyan... I was curious. The first thing I found was a new northern desert: man-made, toxic, barren: Alberta's boreal desert.
